GOOD SKIN DAYS. ON REPEAT.
Glow Guide
EVERY STEP BUILDS YOUR BASE.
Long before foundation touches your skin.
Step 1: CLEANSE — THE NIGHT BEFORE
- WHY IT MATTERS: You can have clean-looking skin and still have residue on it. Incomplete emulsification can leave behind an invisible film of sunscreen, makeup, and cleanser. Because you can't see it, it's easy to assume it's gone. But every layer applied the next day is built on top of whatever remains underneath.
- WHAT TO DO: Emulsification is the key. Gradually add water and continue massaging until your oil or milk cleanser turns fully milky. Then add a little more water and keep going before rinsing thoroughly.
- PRO TIP: Stop splashing water over your oil or milk cleanser and calling it emulsification. If your cleanser never turns fully milky, you're not emulsifying.
STEP 2: CLEANSE — THE MORNING OF
- WHY IT MATTERS: Most people think cleansing starts with cleanser. In reality, it starts with breaking down what's already sitting on your skin. Overnight oil and skincare can create an invisible layer by morning. If that layer isn't properly loosened before cleansing, some of it may remain behind. You won't see it. But the skincare and foundation applied afterward may.
- WHAT TO DO: Before cleansing, use lukewarm water to loosen overnight oil and skincare residue. Then follow with a gentle cleanser.
- PRO TIP: Stop rushing straight to cleanser. Lukewarm water helps loosen what sits on the surface, allowing your cleanser to focus on what remains underneath.
Step 3: PREP — LAYER WITH INTENTION
- WHY IT MATTERS: Sometimes the problem isn't dryness. It's traffic.
- WHAT TO DO: Apply skincare in thin layers and allow each step time to settle before moving to the next. Finish with sunscreen.
- PRO TIP: Morning skincare has a different job than evening skincare. If you're wearing foundation, less is often more. Save heavier treatments and richer creams for nighttime.
- 💡Using a spatula can help minimize direct product contact and support thinner, more even application.
Step 4: APPLY IN THIN LAYERS
- WHY IT MATTERS: More foundation doesn't always mean more coverage. In fact, it often does the opposite. Excess product can emphasize texture, settle unevenly, and make imperfections more noticeable throughout the day. Thin layers typically create a smoother, more convincing finish.
- WHAT TO DO: Spread foundation in thin, controlled layers using the RE LUMI Spatula.
- PRO TIP: The RE LUMI Spatula features two different edge thicknesses for greater control. Experiment with both edges to find the one that best suits your foundation formula and application style.
Step 5: PRESS TO PERFECT
- WHY IT MATTERS: The final step can change the result. A puff that absorbs foundation removes product from the very layer you're trying to create. A low-absorption puff helps keep more foundation on the skin while refining the finish with minimal disruption.
- WHAT TO DO: After spreading foundation with the RE LUMI Spatula, gently press the product into the skin using the RE LUMI Puff.
- PRO TIP: Unlike traditional makeup sponges, the RE LUMI Puff is designed to be used dry. Its water-repellent surface helps minimize product absorption, allowing more foundation to stay on your skin rather than inside your tool. Supports a more hygienic routine while preserving the thin, even layer created by the spatula.
